Wealth, Success And Love

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.

"No", she replied. "He's out."

"Then we cannot come in", they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.

"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"

The woman went out and invited the men in"

" We do not go into a House together," they replied.

"Why is that?" she asked.

One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How n ice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"

His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"

Their daughter was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"

"Let us heed our daughter's advice," said the husband to his wife.

"Go out and invite Love to be our guest ."

The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, t he lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"

The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success !!!!!!"

Are You A Good Listner?

Most of us lack the skill of listening to others which causes unnecessary tension, misunderstanding etc. It’s not only enough to speak your mind but it is also important that you give a patient ear to what others want to tell you. Moat of the times we try to dominate a discussion by increasing the volume of our vocal chord but that only increases tension and leads to arguments. Patience is the virtue. We expect others to listen to what we have to say but we forget to listen to others the way they do. Being egoistic and assertive for all the wrong reasons is not favorable.

Human life is very complicated and so is the human mind. We keep on learning in our lives every day and so we cannot demand that we know everything and turn a deaf ear what others say. It is a fact that we hate advices given by others because we think whatever we do and think is right. But we fail to understand is that no one is imposing anything on us that all the advices and suggestions should be acted upon and after listening to it its up to you whether you want to take them or not. No matter what our thoughts or acts are, listening to others may change our point of view for the better.

Listening to others carefully also helps us end conflicts and arguments in the right manner. What is the point in constantly raising your voice when you are actually not coming to a solution? Listen to the other part of the argument, may be there are justifications on the other side. To know a problem and find out the solution one needs to listen to what others have to say and then conclude.

A good listener can also be a comfort for friends as listening to your friend’s problems and also their thoughts make them feel wanted. So, what’s the harm in being a good listener when it has so many advantages? Try and become a good listener and see what wonders it will do to you.

Wrap It Your Way

Most of the times we receive gifts and go crazy about the beautiful packing aren’t it? This is the world of creative packing that makes us feel like a committing a crime to open it. With Valentines Day coming up why not woo your valentine by gifting him/her a special gift in an even special packaging this time. So go rummaging the markets with your purse and go shopping to create an exquisitely packed valentine day gift. Need not worry in case your budget is going low cause you can spend smartly and pack the gift in an even smarter and creative way(in fact this will impress your valentine even more cause you have presented her a gift in an economical package so beautiful). In order to do this all you need is:

  • Plain and designed, metallic colored, plastic wrapping papers (silver/ gold/bright colors) or self- painted wrapping paper.

  • Plain or designed cellophane papers of different colors and prints.

  • Colored crepe paper, handmade sheets.

  • Bright colored satin ribbons of different widths.

  • Cello tapes, double sided tapes, glue stick, scissors, cutter, ruler, pencil and eraser.

  • Get hold of glitter tubes poster paints as well as glitter dust pouches of different colors.

  • Also start collecting small crystals, small bells, floral motifs, beads, heart shaped cut-outs, strings of different metals and colors and paper flowers.

Procedure:

  1. Place your gift in the centre of a wrapping paper or handmade paper or metallic paper that you have selected.
  2. Wrap the paper tightly around the gift and secure all the sides with cello tapes, making sure that all the sides have been neatly folded.

  3. Choose a cellophane paper of your choice and wrap it all over the wrapped gift.

  4. Now place a motif or nay other accessory collected by you and secure it with double sided cello tape or a transparent one.

  5. Dust loose glitter over the package to give that extra touch.

  6. If you have crystals, beads or stones wrap it over the motif to secure thoroughly.

  7. For a glam touch take a ribbon that matches your gift and wrap it on all 4 sides and make a tight bow with flowing ends. Curl the ends to make it attractive. Make sure that the bow is on the opposite side of the motif.

Bravo! Here’s your gift all wrapped and ready to make your valentine go gaga over it (what an impression).

Life, An Open Book?

There are many people who boast that their life is an open book and that there’s nothing in their life that is hidden from others. I don’t think that’s true. In fact every one in their lives can never be totally an open book because every body has something or the other that he/she would not like to share with others, something that they only keep to themselves or at most to a selected few. Again, there are certain aspects that neither we nor others know about us.
The following illustration is called the Johari Window which gives a view of ourselves as it appears to us and as it appears to others.

 Things I KnowThings I Don't Know
Things Others Know About MeAREA/OPENBLIND
Things Others Don't Know About MeCLOSEDDARK

The first pane (arena/open area) of this window reflects the aspects of us known both to self and others i.e. the aspects of us which the others are fully aware of and so are we and so is the arena or open area.

The second pane (blind area) represents the aspects of ones self known to others but are not aware ourselves e.g. may be a person is dominating but is unaware of it himself and when others tell him he is surprised at it i.e. he remains blind to these aspects.

The third pane (closed area) represents those aspects which are known to self but are not shared with other people. In fact others may not be aware of the information in this area. The person hides certain information about himself/herself from others.

The fourth pane (dark area) is the area where a person’s characteristics and behavior are neither known to self nor to others e.g. some latent potential etc.

As already said above a person may have a closed area that he/she intentionally hides from others or maximum discloses to one or two people trusted very much by the person. Perhaps for some reason, which I may not fully be aware, I may keep certain information hidden from others. These may either be certain doubts, anxieties or some fears of either rejection by others and so people may put on a mask. And so I believe that almost everybody has a closed area –information that one does not want others to know or hides from others. So, saying “My life is an open book” doesn’t make sense because one can never be an open book to everybody as every person has a closed side to him/her.

Yoghurt - A Nutritional Goldmine

Yes, the yoghurt is very much a goldmine. Research proves that yoghurt is not merely a food accompaniment, a dessert or just a diet food. It is packed with microscopic warriors- beneficial bacteria that are a must for good health. This convenient food is easily available anywhere, is a snack that tastes great and it is low in calories.

The benefit of yoghurt goes beyond its nutritional value and low calorie appeal. According to an article in the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition" (2000), yoghurt helps make the immune system more resilient. Yoghurt kills the harmful bacteria dominating the intestine. Doctors often recommend yoghurt to patients recovering from diarrhea, and to help ease other ailments of the intestinal tract.

Women stand to benefit immensely from yoghurt. It is found that yoghurt consumption decreased vaginal infections three fold. In fact, yoghurt provides an excellent source of easily absorbed calcium. However the fruited varieties of yoghurt can be quite high in calories. If you want to fruit flavor but are not willing to sacrifice the calcium or add the calories then mix your own chopped fruit into a container of yoghurt. And always keep it cold, as the helpful bacteria in yoghurt cannot withstand high temperatures.

GOODNESS OF YOGHURT:

  • Its full of vitamins

  • Low in calories

  • Excellent source of calcium

  • Helps to improve complexion, making it clearer and more radiant

  • Helps maintain a healthy balance of intestinal bacteria

  • Increased consumption may lead to increased resistance to immune-related diseases.
